As a student of Ancient Studies, you use historical knowledge to understand contemporary events and phenomena. You explore the visual arts, literature, architecture, for example the pyramids, the Parthenon, the epics of Gilgamesh, Homer and Virgil, and much more.     At the Ancient Studies BA programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, you will go back in time, investigating works of art, literature, and architecture. You will also gain insight into the impact of the zeitgeist, which is always changing.
