Overview Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)The objectives of Bachelor of Computer Science (Bioinformatics) programme at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia are to provide the knowledge, skills and attributes that should be achieved by the graduates for a successful career.The programme is designed to produce graduates who:obtain employment as computer scientists in local and global industries and organisations, where they are competent in applying thefundamental knowledge, computational principles and skills in Bioinformatics field to develop software of increasing size and complexityacross different application areas.demonstrate an ability to continue to learn throughout their career (professional, technical or postgraduate education) which can strengthentheir analytical and critical thinking skills to position them to advanced Computer Science and Bioinformatics practices and to contribute tothe intellectual foundations of the Computer Science and Bioinformatics disciplines.are involved in bioinformatics and related software projects that they are proficient in applying theoretical computing and knowledge inanalysing, modelling, designing, developing and evaluating computing solutions.become leaders or technopreneurs in interdisciplinary disciplines.demonstrate an awareness of professional ethics and social responsibility as computer scientists specialising in bioinformatics. The Bachelor of Computer Science (Bioinformatics) programme at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is a new academic programme offered by Faculty of Computing specially tailored to produce Computer Scientists who are able to utilize Computer Science techniques in managing and analysis biological data, problems and developing and discovering new findings in the field of biology.
