Overview The Philosophy, Politics and Economics BSc programme offered at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is a multidisciplinary study programme that integrates the strengths of its three fields. We encourage you to take a look at our exciting range of courses, which provide rigorous theoretical training and hands-on experience that will enable you to take an active role in shaping the world’s future! We are proud to offer the first full-scale PPE programme in continental Europe, with many unique features for students. The programme includes distinctive international study opportunities and instruction from worldclass academics, politicians, and executives. With a low student-to-staff ratio, PPE courses offer a personal learning experience and our dedicated teaching staff facilitate innovative, hand-on learning right in the vibrant heart of Amsterdam.Our active student community is a big part of what makes PPE at the VU special: PPE is situated in the John Stuart Mill College, which provides exclusive study areas.The college hosts a wide range of extracurricular events, workshops and even international trips.The student society, KallioPPE, hosts a variety of social activities, including pub quizzes, excursions, and study sessions. The Philosophy, Politics and Economics BSc at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam prepares you for future leadership positions in business, politics, academia, and beyond. Addressing today’s complex social problems requires the ability to examine issues from several angles, combining broad social and historical knowledge with the powerful tools like statistics, decision theory, and critical thinking.
