    Overview Why study at the UAO CEU?Primary Education at Abat Oliva - CEU University is a compulsory educational stage for children between 6 and 12 years and it is divided into three cycles. It aims to contribute to the personal and social development of children through teaching and learning methods in subjects of artistic, scientific, ethical, linguistic, mathematical, motor and technological content. An appropriate development at this educational stage is essential for the future of individuals.For this reason, the Abat Oliva - CEU University offers a sound, in-depth and professional study programme, which is the result of a combination of university educational experiences lived in the Humanities’ area and the faculties of Teaching Studies of Vigo and Sevilla, as well as in the educational institutions which the CEU group owns across de country.In short, the Primary Education Degree in Primary Education aims to provide a comprehensive training so that primary school teachers, apart from having high technical and scientific qualifications, are also trained in pedagogy and teaching disciplines, which enable them to become excellent teachers and educators: in other words, primary school teachers who feel that education is a vocation.Learning outcomesSince the first year, our students participate in the real activities that are developed in the educative centres of the Abat Oliba Foundation. This way, we provide a practical knowledge of the teaching profession, and every different aspect related to it.Systematic observation in real classroomsAttendance to Planning and Evaluation boardsEntrance to the classes of their didactic teachers, so they can observe and practice what is taught in their classroomsTalks with teachers with different experience degrees about their motivations, difficulties, challenges, etc.Visits and trips to cultural and sports centres to know the pedagogic departments and the activities they carry outCollaboration in the organisation and execution of end-of-course festivals, and traditional parties such as Sant Jordi, la Castanyada, Christmas, etc.The CEU ePlus competence program is incorporated in every degree since the very first year, in order to work on the specific most demanded competences in the labour market for every degree.
