Some of them start studying only once throughout the year, others twice throughout the year, and others start studying three times. Regardless of the number of times the study starts at the university and college during one year, the important thing is to apply to the university to which you want to apply three to four months before the start of the semester, especially if you need to apply for a visa for study purposes, so the embassy gives some time to study your application before the start of the study date.

Each university has its own requirements, usually, these requirements are the latest academic achievement/certificates, proof of language abilities in the form of an IELTS or TOEFL exam, practical experience ... etc., your educational advisor will be able to determine the required papers through your scientific and practical background. For master's students:
If you cannot gain direct university admission to a master's degree because you do not meet the academic qualifications, this does not mean that you cannot complete a master's degree. Most universities offer qualification programs that allow you, after completing them, to reach your goal and study for a master's. You can study (Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate) or as it is called in some countries / universities (Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate).

Graduate Certificate / Postgraduate Certificate: It is an academic certificate with a duration of up to 6-months, and usually the subjects taught in it are identical to the subjects of the first semester of the master’s to be applied for. If the student passes this stage successfully and with very good performance, he can apply / bridge to obtain Graduate Diploma Postgraduate Diploma or Master's degree admission.

Graduate Diploma Postgraduate Diploma: It is an academic certificate with a duration of up to one year, and usually the subjects taught in it are identical to the subjects of the first semester of the master's to be applied for. The student can apply to obtain an equivalency for some subjects from the master’s stage, so that the duration of the original master’s degree is shorter.

For postgraduate students:
If you are not able to obtain an acceptance to study a doctorate for reasons of poor research, academic background, or even practical experience, then you can obtain admission to study
Graduate Certificate of Research or
Graduate Diploma of Research
and then enroll in your doctoral program.

This depends on the country you wish to study in, and the language your course will be taught in. If you are not a native English speaker but wish to study a course taught in English, you will have to prove you can speak the language to a fairly high level, by providing English-language test results. This is to ensure you will be able to follow your course without any comprehension problems. Common tests accepted as proof of English proficiency are the TOEFL and IELTS.

If you need to prove your proficiency in a language other than English, there are also similar tests in other languages, such as the DELF/DALF and TCF-DAP (French) or the DSF and TestDaF (German).

Before taking a language test, make sure you confirm which results are accepted by your chosen school to make sure you do not waste money on the wrong test.
