APPLIED SPANISH-TURKISH TRANSLATION

Mission

The increasing use of Spanish has become a rising value all over the world. Spoken by some five hundred million people around the world, Spanish is the third most widely spoken language in the world.

Recent developments in commercial and cultural relations between Turkey and Spain have caused Spanish to be a required language in our country as well. Therefore, Spanish speaking professionals are sought after in the field of trade as well as tourism and culture. The main objective of Applied Spanish and Translation program is to train translators who are familiar with Spanish language and culture to meet this need.

The graduates of the program will be able to translate literary works, texts, scientific articles, newspapers and magazines, political, legal, economic, technical and other types of works into the target language.

1. Acceptance Letter received from Istanbul Aydin University
2. Turkish translation of High school diploma and transcript
3. Notarization of translated High school diploma and transcript from Notary in Turkey or Turkish Embassy in your country
4. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory – You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs. Insurance Costs between 400,00 to 600,00 TRL)
5. Equivalency Paper (Denklik Belgesi) of High school diploma from Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Education in Istanbul (you will be guided properly on this once you will reach Istanbul Aydin University International Office J - Block)
6. Language Proficiency Certificate
7. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory– You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs.

Our graduates can work at various public institutions (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism), Publishing Houses, magazines, newspapers, film studios, international organizations, simultaneous and written translation offices, TRT, Anadolu Agency, private TVs, and those who have official translation certificate can work at translation offices.

Ankara University- Spanish Language and Literature

Istanbul University- Spanish Language and Literature

1. Passport photograph
2. High school diploma (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
3. High school transcript (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
4. Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
5. 60 % marks (min) in High School
6. For English degree program applicants: TOEFL score -79 points
   (If English is not the first/ official language of the country). 
   (If students do not have TOEFL then he/ she has to qualify English Proficiency Exam, which will be held in IAU. Dates will be mentioned at http://int.aydin.edu.tr)
7. For Turkish degree program applicants: TOMER B1 level required.
8. Dentistry and Medicine applicants: TOMER C1 level required.
