Department of Computer Engineering at Hacettepe University was established in 1971 as a subdivision of the Institute of Informatics. In 1977, as one of the two leading departments in Turkey, it began offering bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. The department has started to offer bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence Engineering - again a first for Turkey. The department is part of the Faculty of Engineering and it offers 4 years of formal education. The four main branches of the department are Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Hardware, and Artificial Intelligence. All courses in the undergraduate program are in English. Our Artificial Intelligence Engineering program is an engineering program focused on artificial intelligence technologies that enables computer systems to mimic human capabilities. In the diploma of our graduates, it will be stated as "graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program".Our graduates who completed our Artificial Intelligence Engineering program will have necessary skills to design and develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions for problems in academia, industry, and society and they will close the gap in trained Artificial Intelligence specialists worldwide and in Turkey in all areas. The department currently has an academic staff of 24 faculty members who work in the field of artificial intelligence research. Our department offers advanced laboratory facilities to the students. The laboratories and systems in our department are: Programming Laboratory with 50 personal computers, GPU Laboratory with 20 personal computers, Digital Systems Laboratory for 50 students and Micro Processing Laboratory for 25 students, Network Laboratory based on Cisco® hardware for 20 personal computers.
