About

The program provides expertise in fundamental engineering principles. It aims to equip students with a deep understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, internet-based technologies, wireless communications, and computer networks.

The world is witnessing rapid growth in the field of IoT, with twenty billion connected devices currently on the internet, offering 4.5 million job opportunities worldwide. Therefore, it is essential to prepare the next generation of qualified IoT specialists capable of managing, programming, and operating IoT devices and systems in various technological and economic sectors, such as smart cities, homes, and hospitals, as well as in fields like energy, transportation, health, and infrastructure.

The importance of the "Communication Engineering/Internet of Things" program lies in the necessity to keep pace with the profound developments currently occurring in the world of technology, including emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, robots, 5G communications, IoT, big data, 3D printing, drones, cloud computing, blockchain, augmented reality, and others, which constitute the core of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Therefore, PSUT seeks to reaffirm its vision and complete its efforts to keep up with these developments through the initiative to train human resources and provide graduates in the "Communication Engineering/Internet of Things."

The department's plan includes 160 approved hours distributed over classes that typically span five years. Students are accepted with a no less than 80% high school diploma grade.

Entry Requirements at Princess Sumaya University for Technology

The student must have a Jordanian high school diploma or its equivalent
The student’s average should not be lower than the minimum average announced by the university to compete for admission in the current academic year to join the university’s faculties.
Admission to the university is based on the principle of competition according to the university entrance examination, and the higher the student’s mark in this examination, the greater his chance of admission.
The student must submit an application to the Deanship of Admission and Registration and complete all required documents on the specified date after paying the application fee (non-refundable)
In the application for admission, the applicant determines the majors according to the faculties, in order of the priority of his desire.
Accepted students are distributed to PSUT’s Schools according to the absorptive capacity of each study program and according to their stated preferences. Since admission is granted on a competitive basis, those students with higher averages in the Secondary School Certificate will be given priority of choice.
The student must not have been previously dismissed from Princess Sumaya University for Technology or any other university for disciplinary reasons.
The student’s fulfillment of the admission requirements for the required major and the submission of an application for admission does not mean admission to the university. Rather, the student is accepted as a final acceptance if the student meets the competition criteria and passes the admission exam held by the university.
