    About

    The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Altinbas University has a dynamic and contemporary education program based on a comprehensive understanding of the design processes. To this end, theoretical courses are complemented with technical and practical courses, studio applications, and summer practices. Elective courses provide the students with opportunities to identify their interests and to develop themselves in the direction of their interests. This structure helps the students to build up knowledge, skills and attitudes that will give them a wide perspective of world and equipped with the awareness of social and professional ethics. The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design aims to educate creative and competent interior architects and environmental designers, who are sensitive to human values, who are aware of the social, psychological, cultural, historical, aesthetical and technological aspects of the built environment, who are sensitive to the environment and who are socially responsible, who are capable of interdisciplinary work and team work, who are critical thinkers, and who are technology literate in their field.

    Career

    An interior and environmental designer is involved in the design or renovation of internal spaces, including structural alterations, furnishings, fixtures and fittings, lighting and color schemes. Designs and feasibility studies are produced for commercial, leisure and domestic properties, and the designer oversees the project from beginning to end.
