    About

    Start a healthy career Gain an excellent grounding in all aspects of the health sector. In your Health Sciences degree, you will develop the ability to critically approach new challenges in contemporary healthcare and be equipped to enter the workforce in a variety of health-related sectors or pursue postgraduate studies in a health-related discipline. This degree is very flexible. There are a number of specialisations if you choose to specialise including Ageing, Health Management, Health Promotion, Innovation, Digital Health^, Physiology & Neuroscience^, Psychology^ and Therapy studies^. All specialisations offer placements in a wide range of health-related industries and settings. You can work within a health, community, or research setting to develop and enhance your work-ready skills. ^ separate SATAC codes

    • This course has real flexibility to create your own future. You will have the ability to build your own Health Sciences degree by combining core skills topics with topics of interest from across the University, or you can choose from eight different specialisations.
    • You will develop a suite of transferable skills that are relevant to a variety of health environments and can be built upon with further study. 
    • We prepare you for practice in the real world through work placements, allowing you to develop industry connections and practical skills.  
    • Our teaching staff are experienced health professionals with rich and diverse backgrounds, sharing a broad range of connections to industry. 
    • You will develop a suite of transferable skills that are relevant to a variety of health environments and can be built upon with further study. 
    • This degree will open the door to various workplace settings including corporate or government departments, not-for-profit organisations, or community health centres.

    Entry Requirements

    The minimum entry requirement is comparable to an ATAR of 65, please note that some Flinders programs require higher than a comparable ATAR of 65. For further information please see the individual requirements for programs on the course listings.

    Prerequisite subject requirements

    Credit for previous university studies is granted at the discretion of the faculty that administers a chosen course. If you are seeking credit or exemption you will need to provide detailed subject outlines of studies completed.

    If you do not meet the necessary academic requirements you may enrol in a Foundation Program at Flinders International Study Centre (FISC).

     

    English Program Requirements

    If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers. This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.
