Bachelor of Television and Radio Production (Television Production)

Further study

Upon successful completion of this degree, you can go on to study the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours).

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

• English (Units 3 & 4, C)

We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at Year 12 high school level. Find out more about assumed knowledge.

You may be required take part in an audition or interview, which requires presentation of the following:

• a portfolio of film work, broadcast visual or sound work.
• a written statement (500 words) outlining your experience within these media and/or an explanatory statement that describes your portfolio.

Note: It is a requirement that Queensland-based students hold a current positive notice indicating that they are deemed suitable for working with children and young people whilst studying the Bachelor of Television and Radio Production. English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

• As a graduate, you can explore careers within television studio productions, outside broadcast coverage of sport, concerts or major events as well as news and current affairs.
• You’ll be equipped to work in technical roles, production, on-air presentation, copywriting, editing, camera, media management, audio production and all associated roles.
