    • Link your Television Production major with other disciplines, such as Film, Journalism, IT, Radio or Marketing and graduate with a diverse and dynamic skill-set.

    Entry Requirements

    To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

    • English (Units 3 & 4, C)

    We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at Year 12 high school level. Find out more about assumed knowledge.

    You may be required take part in an audition or interview, which requires presentation of the following:

    • a portfolio of film work, broadcast visual or sound work.
    • a written statement (500 words) outlining your experience within these media and/or an explanatory statement that describes your portfolio.

    Note: It is a requirement that Queensland-based students hold a current positive notice indicating that they are deemed suitable for working with children and young people whilst studying the Bachelor of Television and Radio Production. Further information about the Blue Card or Exemption Card suitability process is available from the Blue Card Services.

    Qualification Grade

    English language requirements

    You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

    Recognition of prior learning or work experience

    If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

    English Program Requirements

    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to gain credit (advanced standing) towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

    Career

    • As a graduate, you can explore careers within television studio productions, outside broadcast coverage of sport, concerts or major events as well as news and current affairs.
    • You’ll be equipped to work in technical roles, production, on-air presentation, copywriting, editing, camera, media management, audio production and all associated roles.
