    Business Administration (Advanced)

    About

The Master of Business Administration (Advanced) is an extended version of Curtins flagship MBA program that gives you additional industry project experience. It is aimed towards professionals with significant work experience who want to progress to senior management roles.

The course content is applicable to a range of industries. From our beautiful Perth city campus location in the heart of the Perth Central Business District, you will learn to devise and apply innovative business strategies that help your organisation to thrive in complex and volatile economic environments.

Core subjects include economics, finance, organisational behaviour, strategy, international business and marketing. To ensure this course is aligned with changes to industry, including large for-profit corporations, SMEs and NFPs, weve also added new units in executive financial decision-making, global business sustainability and organisational strategy.

This advanced course will extend your research capabilities, by requiring you to work on a practical project in a workplace setting. Youll liaise closely with an industry partner to apply key business theories, concepts and techniques to solve a real-world challenge and develop real skills in business design, report writing, written communication and critical thinking.

During your studies, youll be connected with an industry network support partner to facilitate your business networks in Australia. You will also get to attend numerous networking events, including our popular MBA engage events, which run every six weeks and will introduce you to expert industry and academic speakers.

    Choose your specialisation

In your first year, you can choose a specialisation: a set of units designed to hone your knowledge and skills in a particular area.

    Business Administration

In the Business Administration specialisation, youll develop your ability to create and critically evaluate innovative ideas and strategies within ambiguous and uncertain business environments.

    Energy Futures

The Energy Futures specialisation will help teach you how to respond to significant changes within the energy sector, such as the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, as well as energy storage and distribution.

    Leadership

The Leadership specialisation will help you to gain a nuanced understanding of current and future leadership challenges, and explore the philosophy and ethics of leadership.

Note: If you do not meet the admission criteria for this course, you should instead apply for the Graduate Certificate in Business or the Graduate Certificate in Business Futures.

Please refer to the handbook for additional course overview information.
