The Computer Engineering Department was established at the Hijjawi College of Engineering and Technology at Yarmouk University in 1993, and played a pivotal role in shaping the features of computer engineering education in Jordan. Over the years, the department has been graduating highly qualified cadres who contribute to innovation and development in the technology sector locally and globally. The department currently offers two bachelor's degree programs: Computer Engineering, and Computer Engineering - Internet of Things, both designed to meet the growing demand for expertise in computing technologies and intelligent systems. In addition, the department offers a Master's program in Computer Engineering, which aims to prepare students for advanced positions in research and development and academia. Our faculty includes elite specialists with extensive experience in computer engineering fields, such as embedded systems, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, computer networks, and software systems. Their commitment to teaching and research contributes to enriching the academic experience and supporting innovation. To support practical learning and applied research, the department is equipped with modern laboratories and advanced computer facilities. These laboratories are maintained by qualified engineers, which provide students with essential practical experience, allowing them to apply theoretical concepts to real-world challenges and emerging technologies.
