Computer systems and network administrators are responsible for the configuration and reliable operation of computer networks, which form the backbone of modern information systems.
This degree course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to pursue career opportunities in this rapidly expanding field.
Youll learn about computer network design and development technologies, focusing on the design and support of distributed computer and telecommunications networks.
The course integrates current developments in wired and wireless networking and provides a comprehensive view of the industry. Youll develop skills in network design and management, and the convergence of computer hardware, embedded systems, IT, technical support, real-time systems, software and telecommunications.
Youll also learn about the internet of things (IoT) – a network of devices connected to the internet on a global scale. The IoT is expanding rapidly, and it is increasingly critical for professionals to understand how it works and how to harness its power to improve business. This course will therefore enable you to apply technical knowledge across IoT-related functions in the workplace.
The course includes certification-based training with IT leaders. Youll graduate with the skills to expand the capabilities of networks already in place and to build new ones.
Double degree options
You can study a Bachelor of Technology (Computer Systems and Networking) as part of a double degree with a Bachelor of Information Technology.
See our handbook for more course information.
