    Overview Program highlightsStudents from University of the Western Cape are placed in local clinics and hospitals and work under the supervision of registered Dietitians or qualified Foodservice managers in order to gain practical experience in the profession of Dietetics. In addition to this, students complete modules in Statistics and Psychology and conduct a research project in this time.Students registered for the B.Sc (Dietetics) course are required to register with the Professional Board of Dietetics with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA).     The BSc. Dietetics course at University of the Western Cape is a 4 year program. The first 2 years of study forms the foundation of the course – students complete a range of science and basic nutrition modules.
