    About

    Overview The program is designed to be equivalent to the undergraduate programs in Economics and Finance in the top universities in the EU, including a significant part of mathematics and statistics. The graduates are familiar with the essential economics knowledge and quantitative skills, as well as detailed knowledge about particular fields such as financial markets, banking, international trade and finance, public economics and economic policy-making. The level of instruction and requirements in the core courses facilitate easy transfers of the graduates into top Masters programs in Economics and Finance in the EU.Key facts:To complete the programme, the students must (i) collect 180 ECTS credits and (ii) defend their Bachelor’s Thesis. The available courses consist of mandatory courses, elective and optional courses. The mandatory and elective courses are taught at the Institute of Economic Studies (IES), the optional (off-field elective) courses can be taken at any department of Charles University (including Czech language classes).
    This three-year Bachelor in Economics and Finance (BEF) programme from Charles University aims to give the student a thorough grounding in both theoretical and applied economics and finance. We put emphasis on developing abstract analytical reasoning, which allows our graduates to solve complex economic and financial problems in various settings.

    1As the programme exposes students to topics in mathematical economics, mathematical statistics and finance, applicants are required to have an excellent background in high-school mathematics. Prior knowledge of economics or finance is an advantage, but it is not required. Score in the SAT section Mathematics, or in SAT Subject Test in Mathematics Level 1, or in SAT Subject Test in Mathematics Level 2.Score in the ACT Composite Test section Mathematics.Score in the SCIO Mathematics Test.
