Three majors are offered: Information Engineering (IE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), as well as Energy and Power Engineering (EPE). This year's classes might be taught online due to COVID-19.General context of the domain Energy is a fundamental issue for civilization and society development. This year's classes might be taught online due to COVID-19The Energy domain is subject to new market issues such as energy market and emission market, grid control and its optimization, intensification of processes consuming energy, development of energy conversion technologies including renewable energies as well as environmentally-driven strategies, with more particularly the impact of climate change and its mitigation of limitation.The engineers trained in the Energy and Power Engineering Major may be able to work in energy sector industries and services as well as in industries concerned with a clean and sober development. Career opportunitiesGraduates of the Energy and Power Engineering major at Shanghai Jiao Tong University will be well-adapted to technical manager positions of large tertiary or industrial site (operation and maintenance), project or business engineer from design to validation (management and coordination of the execution of works, subcontracting steering) including the financing and marketing and engineer in the fields of fluid and environment. Graduates may also hold positions in the field of strategy and of environmental and responsible finance.
