Also included is the option for a research period of up to five weeks in one of the five partner universities located both inside and outside of Europe: Spain, Czech Republic, Tunisia, Mexico, or Brazil.Strength of the study programThe richness and strength of this Master Degree lies in the interdisciplinary nature of the program. It combines history, anthropology, archeology, art history, sociology, conservation, and museum studies, as well as a diverse supervising team of both research professors and scientific practitioners connected with culture and heritage.Another important quality is to bring together institutions, scholars and students, coming from all over Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia with the goal of illuminating the variety of ways in which History of Technology, Industrial Heritage, Cultural Heritage are addressed around the globe. The first language of instruction is in French, and the second is in English. French, Italian, Portuguese and English courses are also offered throughout the program. And After?Competences and skillsThe contributions of skills and complementary knowledge offered by each of the partners offers a global approach, allowing work and research for the project from every dimension, in particular in terms of impact. To meet these objectives: to train professionals of excellence in the engineering of industrial and technical heritage by giving them the ability to appraise historical technical environments, knowledge of technical processes and their economic, ecological and societal impact; analysis of heritage contexts, is the intention.OpportunitiesBy adding to knowledge gathered from history about practices relating to culture and knowledge and the ability to analyse and understand scientifically-documented techniques connecting with society and the transfer of information, this Master Degree is able to deliver to students what they need in order to succeed from three main perspectives:Research professionals in the history of technology, heritage and industrial archeology;Specialists who focus on the value of techniques in the framework of, for example, technical or scientific museums, centers of scientific, technical and industrial culture, associations, institutions for the dissemination of scientific and technical culture, or scientific or technical journals;Experts able to understand and manage technical environments. This expertise concerns as much of a diagnosis of ancient environments (hydraulic, energy networks, intangible and material industrial heritage), as that of technical ecosystems (low consumption houses, establishment of wind farms, treatment of industrial waste, telemedicine) basing the work on field analysis and comparative studies.
