Graduate Certificate in Project Management

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management is a specialist course and is ideal if you are a practising project manager or if you aspire to become a project manager. The qualification provides practising project managers and project directors with the technical skills to successfully run projects by focusing on the application of project management concepts applicable to a variety of industries.

The course introduces and develops skills to initiate projects and develop project plans to efficiently meet project goals. Case studies and practical material are embedded within the course to illustrate how the concepts of project management meet industry demand. It adopts a methodological approach to the application of project processes and highlights the integration of different frameworks into a project.

On successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management, you will have a comprehensive understanding of project management and be able to confidently run projects and achieve targets and outcomes in the most challenging environments. The Graduate Certificate in Project Management can be undertaken as either a pathway or an exit qualification for the Graduate Diploma of Project Management, it is also an interim award within the Master of Information Technology.

SEAMLESS STUDY PATHWAYS
Designed as a suite, the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Business Administration (Leadership) transition seamlessly. This means that if you complete the Graduate Certificate, and would like to extend your skills and knowledge further you can continue on with the Graduate Diploma or Master of Business Administration (Leadership) and receive credits for the units you have completed.

To gain entry to this course, you must have:

• a bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or equivalent; or
• a recognised diploma and two years relevant business experience; or
• a recognised Certificate IV and three years relevant business experience; or
• a minimum of five years relevant management experience; or
• a minimum of 10 years relevant business experience.

If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers. This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.

The Project Management Institute (PMI) estimates that one-fifth of the world's gross domestic product is spent on projects and a huge demand exists globally for skilled project managers. After completing this course you will have enhanced opportunities for employment as a project supervisor, project manager or project director in a wide range of industries.

Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Project Management will prepare you to pursue employment opportunities (subject to additional industry qualifications and experience you may require) as a project manager in diverse industries such as agriculture, construction, engineering, manufacturing, mining, transportation and many others.
