    Overview The main aim of the Hydrology and Oceanography Bachelor’s degree programme from Klaipeda University in Physical Geography is to prepare highly qualified geophysical sciences specialists with a focus on phenomena and processes occurring in the oceans, seas, rivers, lakes and other water bodies and in the atmosphere. Also to provide students with an opportunity to acquire integrated competence in the field of geography. Students are provided with an advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills; they gain the opportunity of becoming strategists of new technologies. Graduates will also acquire specific knowledge about the modern monitoring of the oceans and seas, marine economic development, international and national environment protection and sustainable development issues, essential components of the global maritime economy, and their geographical characteristics.Career opportunitiesPhysical Geography bachelors can work in Lithuanian and European Nature protection departments, Hydrometeorology services, municipalities, landscape, water management institutions, harbours and hydro construction departments, in worldwide coastal engineering enterprises associated with the port constructions, coastal monitoring and etc. as well as continuing education and research activities of higher level (master) degree studies.
