    Overview The Bachelor in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering is offered by Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.The Major in Mechanics offers a specialisation in the sector of traditional mechanics whereas the focus of the Major in Energy Engineering is on energy-related disciplines.The first Major in Mechanics provides a specialization in the classical field of mechanical engineering. The Major in Energetics focuses more on the foundations of the field of energy engineering, such as production and energy distribution as well as energy efficiency. These two majors guarantee optimal technical education and prepare students for direct further study in the Master in Industrial Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering.The Dual Study ProgrammesThese nationwide unique dual study programmes in Logistics and Production and Automation are offered in collaboration with Assoimprenditori Alto Adige, the association of the local entrepreneurs. Students specialising in Logistics and Production and Automation have the opportunity to combine studies and work. In this case the duration of the course is extended to four years. In the first year you study full time whereas starting with the second year you'll be alternating work and study.In the Major in Logistics and Production, students can conclude an employment contract with a company participating in the program at the end of the first year. In the case of the Major Automation, students conclude an employment contract with a company when starting the studies.Career opportunitiesGraduates of the Major in Mechanics work as freelance professionals or for companies in the mechanical, electromechanical or plant sectors, in automation, in production systems, energy conversion and related fields in energy companies, in most manufacturing industries, in services companies, for the government or the local authorities.The Major in Energy, in particular, provides specific training to those students who want to work in the sector of electricity providers, designing and setting up energy production systems with a special focus on technology aimed at producing energy from renewable sources.Graduates from the Dual Programme (alternating study and work) in Logistics and Production will be able to work – as freelancers, employees or managers – for manufacturing companies, service providers and for the public administration. They will be specialists in the management of materials and in Supply-Chain Management; in the organization of production systems (production planning and control), in business organization and production processes; in Logistics, Quality Management, Project Management and Controlling.
