    About

    The postgraduate program in international relations explores contemporary theory and research in this field and offers you an opportunity to specialise in international relations theory and global international relations, with an emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region.

    It provides a specialised education for those who may later seek to pursue doctoral studies or professional employment in foreign affairs, defence, international trade, journalism or related areas.

    The program is taught by staff from Flinders University's College of Business, Government and Law, one of Australia's leading centres of teaching and research in international relations.

    The postgraduate international relations program covers key theoretical concepts, major historical themes and significant current issues, and provide you with grounding in academic debates and research literature in international relations.

    Topics cover areas such as the new security agenda, global inequality, debating international relations, and the theory and practice of international human rights.

     

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification or hold a the Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Education or closely related qualification. In addition, applicants must also have no less than two years’ work experience in an organisation.

    English Program Requirements

    If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers. This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.
