Study research courses designed to expand your understanding of the transformative role of education in society, and develop the skills to work through the contemporary challenges faced by educators in rapidly changing, diverse communities.

Develop the skills to solve current issues in the education environment by using your own experiences as a backdrop to your studies, developing a research project based on your current workplace.

A Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government makes a contribution towards the cost of a studentâs higher education and students pay a student contribution amount, which varies depending on the courses undertaken.

Commonwealth Supported students may be eligible to defer their fees through a Government loan called HECS-HELP.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Approved bachelor degree, or equivalent, in Education.
Candidates with a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a non-related discipline may be eligible for entry into UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Education. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they may apply for entry into the Master of Education.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

English Program Requirements

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to gain credit (advanced standing) towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Upon graduation you will be well prepared to develop and implement individualised programs for students with diverse learning needs, or working directly with individuals, small groups, or a classroom of students.
Career outcomes include opportunities within special and inclusive education. Career opportunities may also be pursued within the disability sector, training sector, human services and community-based government organisations.
