    About

This double degree programme offered by two universities gives students the opportunity to study one to two semesters at the partner university. The programme offers qualified students the opportunity to receive a joint degree from TU Ilmenau (Germany) and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima. TU Ilmenau: The programme "Materials Science / Werkstoffwissenschaft / Ingenieria y Ciencias de los Materiales" provides special knowledge on the structure, properties, production, and development of all classes of materials (metals, glasses, ceramics, polymers, and compounds). The study consists of continuing courses in physics, chemistry, and in informatics and engineering subjects, mainly in the domain of materials science focused on material analysis, surface engineering, and advanced functional materials. Catalogues of obligatory elective courses reflect the specialisation of the university with its focus on microtechnology and nanotechnology as well as on the technology, development and characterisation of materials. The students may freely select from among these lectures. Within the research projects, students work closely with their supervising professors or assistants. Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Lima The programme "Materials Science / Werkstoffwissenschaft / Ingenieria y Ciencias de los Materiales" offers an education in the fields of metallic materials, ceramics, polymers, and composites. This programme allows students to improve professional abilities and also contributes to their personal development. The aim of this programme is to generate a profound practical and theoretical background in the field of material science focused in surface science, corrosion protection, and solid state sciences. A main goal is to provide the students with the necessary skills to work scientifically, especially in the field of research and development of new and/or improved materials. The study is completed with the Master's thesis, supervised and evaluated by professors/advisers from both universities.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements
