About

There have been many important changes in the scope of architecture in recent years. Most of these changes have led to paradigmatic transformations in professional and academic fields. Among these, academic, scientific and professional orientations which are influenced by environmental problems and universal sustainability policies come to the fore. With the proposal of the advisor and the approval of the Board of Directors of the Institute; The student can take 2 elective courses from the graduate programs of Istanbul Okan University or other universities. In order to take the proficiency exam, course credits must be completed and at least one national and / or international refereed statement and / or article publication requirement produced from doctoral studies must be fulfilled. Qualification Exam and Thesis Proposal stages must be completed successfully in order to start the PhD Thesis studies. In order to defend the Ph.D. Thesis in front of the Jury, the thesis follow-up process must be completed successfully and at least one international peer-reviewed paper and / or article publication requirement must be fulfilled.

Entry Requirements

Applications are made directly to the International Office. Students can apply for up to five academic programs listed in order of preference. Applications are evaluated by a Faculty Board. Students placed in an academic program will be announced on our website. Students accepted for studies at Okan University will receive a Letter of Acceptance issued by the International Office. They will then apply for a Visa at the nearest Turkish Consulate in their home countries.

English Program Requirements

All undergraduate students have to prove their proficiency in English before they can start the first year of their academic program. International students who are unable to submit the required English language test scores during their application can take the Okan University English Proficiency Test upon arrival. Students who fail the test will attend Okan University Intensive English Program for one year. This year is not included in the total number of years required for graduation.
