    Political Science and International Relations

    About

    The undergraduate program in Political Science and International Relations aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills through which they can deeply grasp political, cultural and economic developments at national and global level and acquire the qualifications sought in the national and global environment and labor markets. It also aims to provide students with a scientific understanding of social facts and phenomena, that would enable them to uncover the roots of common perceptions and practices, to question them when necessary, and to come up with policy proposals when possible. Such a goal necessitates the students to be equipped with a knowledge of political theory, history as well as of political economy and scientific methods in social sciences. Graduates of the program will be able to better analyze societies and their culture, national and global institutions and the politics of countries' foreign policies, in doing so, they will have responsive and flexible career opportunities in today's working conditions after graduation. On the one hand, they will have better job opportunities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other public institutions, internationally linked non-governmental organizations, social research sector, and international institutions and markets, on the other hand, they will increase their chances of continuing their graduate studies in the most prestigious universities in fields ranging from international relations to management, political science, sociology and economics.     Entry Requirements

    1) International students,

    2) Those holding Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but documenting their certification for rights mentioned in the Turkish Citizenship Law, no: 5901, Item 7, stating that “Anyone born, either in Turkey or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen.” Candidates who wish to apply within the “applications from abroad” category should examine the Turkish Citizenship Law.

    3) Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth; and have gained the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual-citizenship,

    4) a) Those who hold the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey and have completed last 3 years of their high school education in another country except The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus before 01/02/2013. (Including those who have completed their entire high school education in a Turkish high school opened in another country, except ones in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, within the scope of MEB.)

    b) Those who start their high school education after 01/02/2013 in abroad, and completing entire high school education in abroad except The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. (Including those who have completed their entire high school education in a Turkish high school opened in another country, except ones in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, within the scope of MEB.)

    c) Those who hold Turkish citizenship or dual citizenship, one of which is Turkish, must have received their high school education abroad as formal education (not distance education). These applicants are required to certify their formal education by presenting the relevant pages in their passports showing that they have entered the country where the high school is located during their high school education.

    5) Those who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who reside in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system, as well as those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010.

      • If available, the copy of High School Diploma (if in another language rather than Turkish or English, notarized translation should also be submitted)
      • Official transcript, showing all courses and grades taken during the entire high school education, signed and stamped by the high school authority.
      • If taken before, copy of international language proficiency exam scores accepted by Sabancı University English Prep School: CLICK→ not compulsory, you can also take Sabancı University English Language Exam (ELEA) during registration week.
      • If available, 1 academic letter of recommendation
      • Letter of motivation (to strengthen your application)
      • Any extracurricular certificate, such as Olympiad certificates (to strengthen your application)
