    Overview Program LevelThe Process Instrumentation and Control Engineering programme of University of Bahrain includes two laboratory courses, namely Process Instrumentation/Control Lab I and Process Instrumentation/Control Lab II. Students conduct experiments on process variables and properties measurements and empirical chemical processes modeling in Lab I. In lab II, they conduct experiments on computer based automatic process control; control valves characteristics and composition measurements.The program also includes two periods of summer trainings of two-month duration each, one upon completion of the second year and the other at the end of the third year. The students are placed in relevant industrial companies to gain additional practical experience.In the second and fourth years, students also undertake junior and senior projects, respectively. Both projects emphasize independent learning and teamwork. Field trips are also arranged through the courses in coordination with the relevant industrial companies.Program ObjectivesThe PICE B.Sc. program educational objectives cover three domains:Depth: Foster within our graduates a strong foundation in the fundamental knowledge required for the practice of, or for advanced study in, Process Instrumentation and Control Engineering, including its scientific principles, rigorous analysis, and creative design.Breadth: Prepare our graduates with a broad up-to-date education, with emphasis on Process Instrumentation and Control Engineering, for the diversity of productive career opportunities or for postgraduate education.Professionalism: To develop within our graduates professional skills including responsible teamwork, creativity and communication skills and professional attitudes and ethics to prepare them for the complex actual work environment and for lifelong learning.     The Process Instrumentation and Control Engineering programme of University of Bahrain comprises a total of 138 credit hours reasonably distributed over eight semesters. It is developed to equip students with the necessary tools to fulfill their assignments and responsibilities as process instrumentation and control engineers.

    1A minimum grade of 70% in the General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihia) or its equivalent. No more than two years shall have passed since the applicant obtained his/her high General Secondary School Certificate. The Following General Secondary School specializations are accepted: ( Science, Commerce, Literature, Unified Tracks, Technical, Technical Stream – Advanced,Commerce Stream – Advanced, Relegion Tracks ).The applicant shall attend an aptitude test and a personal interview.Language competency is required according to the language of instruction of the specific program of study.The applicant shall be medically fit for the academic program he/she wishes to enroll in.
