This program was designed within a mechanism and methodology that gives the department wide freedom to adapt curricula according to the desire of students who wish to become specialists in the various fields of software engineering, as well as for students who aspire to continue postgraduate studies in the specialization, as well as those who wish to cooperate with other branches of knowledge related to this specialization.

Graduation requirements in the department:
In addition to the university requirements and college requirements, the student must pass (90) accredited study hours, distributed as follows (40) accredited study hours as compulsory specialization requirements, (39) supporting specialization requirements, and (9) hours as optional specialization requirements.
