About Bachelor of Computer science

The Department of Computer Science was established in 1984 as one of the departments of the College of Science until 2016, and the department then became one of the departments of the College of Information Technology. The department was established to meet the needs of the local and global market in various information technology sectors. The department awards a bachelor's degree in two specializations: computer science, information security, and forensic evidence, with a total of 132 credit hours. It also awards a master's degree in computer science, with its comprehensive and thesis tracks, with a total of 33 credit hours. The department includes an elite group of professors in various specializations and from various academic ranks.

The department offers students during their academic career the opportunity to learn many different programming languages, analysis methods, systems design, databases, networks, and artificial intelligence, so that the graduate is able to compete in the labor market locally and globally in various information technology sectors. It is also the responsibility of the department to adopt modern means of learning to deliver correct and updated information in the easiest possible way, through computerized materials and the use of the E-Learning system.

Requirements and Admission Criteria for Bachelor of Computer science at Mutah University

Entry Requirements

Admission to the regular program is allocated to Jordanian students, and to students from sister and friendly countries who are accepted on cultural exchange missions. Admission is through the Unified Admission Coordination Unit - Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Admission requirements:
1- The student must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
2- The student's average in high school must not be less than the minimum admission average in the required specialization.
3- The high school branch must be one of the branches allowed to apply for admission to the required specialization and used in the admission bases for bachelor's degrees.

Documents required for the regular program:
1- The original high school transcript or a certified copy of it.
2- A certified copy of the birth certificate.
3- A certified copy of the family book, the student's page and the father's page.
4- A certified copy of the passport for non-Jordanian students.
5- Military service booklet for males or exemption certificate or occupation permit (upon registration)
6- (2) personal photos.
7- Identity document .
8- A document proving blood type.
