​Water and Environmental Engineering involves the application of scientific principles and advancements for the improvement of the natural environment in areas all over the globe which encompass a range of advanced studies and applications, including (but not limited to) advanced water and wastewater treatment, advanced hydraulics and hydrology, water resources engineering and solid waste management. Other areas of focus consist of air pollution, climate change, sustainability, environmental modelling and simulation.​
