    About Bachelor of Engineering smart and sustainable cities

    The Bachelor’s Program in Smart and Sustainable Cities Engineering, offered by the Hajaji College of Engineering and Technology at Yarmouk University, is the first program of its kind in Jordan. Designed to meet the pressing and evolving needs of urban environments, this interdisciplinary program provides students with the tools to reimagine how cities work – technologically, sustainably, and socially. The program is scheduled to seek ABET accreditation by the time the first class graduates, reflecting its commitment to international standards for engineering education. Thanks to a curriculum that links engineering, urban planning and cutting-edge digital technologies, students gain high proficiency in areas such as smart energy systems, smart transportation, water and waste management, and urban resilience. The program focuses on integrating advanced technologies such as digital twins, smart grids, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence into the design and management of sustainable urban ecosystems. Students are trained to develop innovative solutions that respond to the challenges of rapid urbanization, climate change and resource constraints, making them key players in shaping sustainable, efficient and liveable cities for future generations. Through hands-on laboratories, interdisciplinary projects, and exposure to real-world applications, graduates of this program are uniquely positioned to become forward-thinking engineers, urban innovators, and leaders in smart city development – ​​locally and globally.

    Requirements and Admission Criteria for Bachelor of Engineering smart and sustainable cities at Yarmouk University

    Entry Requirements

    1. The original Jordanian General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) transcript, certified by the Jordanian Ministry of Education and issued in Arabic, for applicants holding the Jordanian General Secondary Education Certificate.
    2. A certified copy of a valid passport.
    3. Students sponsored by the governments of Saudi Arabia (scholarship students only), Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Yemen, and Malaysia must obtain approval from their respective Cultural Attaché Offices in Jordan before completing their admission procedures.
    4. The original equivalency certificate for the General Secondary Education Certificate, along with a Ministry of Education certification of the secondary school transcript, for applicants holding a non-Jordanian secondary school certificate.
    5. A certified copy of the Civil Identification Card (Magnetic Card) issued by Public Security Directorate service centers, for Syrian students.
    6. Two recent passport-sized photographs (4 × 6 cm).
