    Recently, the education system has been facing pressures and challenges as a result of the modern technological revolution, leading to a series of changes in human relationships. New trends related to the educational process have emerged, linking technology with education, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges the world faced at that time. In recent years, educational platforms, educational software, and other concepts have appeared that connected various academic curricula with technology as an easy and accessible method that allows students to reach content with ease.

    E-learning has become one of the most essential skills that educational professionals at all levels must possess. In fact, it has become a necessity in this era, which is characterized by a knowledge explosion, an information revolution, and active knowledge with a significant impact on the educational process. In line with the Jordanian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s interest in keeping pace with technological developments, it became necessary to introduce programs that align with these requirements. From this need, the idea of launching a Master's program in E-Learning Curricula at Zarqa University was born.

    This program is an essential requirement for professionals in the field of education, in both the public and private sectors, as well as for individuals working in companies serving the education sector. The program aims to help them develop themselves and enhance their cognitive and practical competencies in alignment with the global technological revolution that must be embraced and utilized across all aspects of life, including education.

    Program Objectives

    1. To prepare students to work in the e-learning sector by developing, implementing, completing, and evaluating e-learning and distance education programs, and to enhance their ability to utilize the features of the e-learning environment to improve practices and innovate according to their capacities.

    2. To familiarize students in the field of educational technologies with the concepts and theories related to learning, teaching, and training using educational technologies, in addition to the educational applications of these concepts for the successful implementation of e-learning.

    To develop awareness of the emerging context of e-learning in higher education, and to prepare future graduates with a critical understanding of frameworks for participatory knowledge production, quality assurance, qualifications, and accreditation needed to formulate future e-learning strategies.

    Requirements and Admission Criteria for Master's degree in Curriculum and E-Learning at Zarqa University

    Entry Requirements

    Students with a high school diploma or its equivalent from outside Jordan can enroll in higher education institutions directly through websites of public and private universities or intermediate community colleges based on their averages. Universities implement the credit hours system, which allows students to choose courses according to their study plan.

    Students wishing to enroll in a master's program must hold a bachelor's degree. Furthermore, students who wish to enroll in doctoral programs must hold a master's degree.

    In addition, students wishing to enroll in postgraduate programs are required to provide a certificate confirming their English proficiency level in a TOEFL or IELTS exam. They could also demonstrate a certain proficiency level in French or German. Lastly, they could take an English language exam held by the higher education institution they apply in.

    In the event that the student fails to prove the required level of English, German or French, or fails the English equivalency exam, they may study a qualifying program in English at the university where they undertake additional six credit hours; he/she must score a minimum grade that varies according to their specialization.

    Admission Fee: JOD 60. (Non-refundable fee paid once by new students in the first semester upon joining the university.)
    Late Registration Fine: JOD 30. (Paid if the student does not comply with the registration deadline set by the Deanship of Admission and Registration.)
    Refundable Deposit: JOD 200. (Paid once by new students and refunded upon graduation or after obtaining university clearance.)
    Comprehensive Examination Fee: JOD 300.
    Thesis Defense Fee: JOD 350.
    E-Learning Fee / Each Semester: JOD 30.
