In line with the university’s mission to excel in providing high-quality educational and scientific research services according to international standards, the Master’s Program in Medical Laboratory Sciences was established to contribute to fulfilling the university’s vision and mission.
The program offers students opportunities for education, training, and scientific research by providing a research environment that promotes collaboration, creative thinking, and the publication of research results in internationally and locally recognized journals. The program aims to provide qualified personnel in modern medical laboratory sciences who are capable of developing laboratory analyses in ways that serve the community. The department has attracted a distinguished group of faculty members with high qualifications and extensive academic and scientific experience.
The Master’s Program in Medical Laboratory Sciences allows admitted students to study advanced clinical courses, including: Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology and Serology, Molecular Biology and Histopathology, Laboratory Management, Research Methodology, Quality Control, and other courses relevant to applicants in this program. After successfully completing 25 credit hours, the graduate student may proceed to conduct original research culminating in a master’s thesis worth 9 credit hours, bringing the total to 34 credit hours. Thesis topics include different specialized fields such as Diagnostic Microbiology, Clinical Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Diagnostic Immunology and Serology, Diagnostic Molecular Biology, in addition to the comprehensive track.
