Overview General objectives: The objectives of the programme consist in providing specialized high-level doctoral training in the current contents, technological developments and research in the fields of seismology, earthquake seismic engineering and structural dynamics. The programmeIt is addressed to the obtainment of doctoral theses of quality related with the research lines of the different collaborating research groups, including research on generation, propagation and attenuation of seismic waves and on their effects on structures and the way to reduce them.Specific objectives: The development and evolution of the program versus the priorities of the national, european and international research plans and the aim of service to the society have directed the program to the prediction, evaluation and management of seismic risk in regions presenting high and moderate seismic hazard. The program has been fundamental to carry out research and technological studies in seismic engineering and structural dynamics matters. The students, many of them latin-americans, receive a high level formation in these areas. Actually, several of them occupy important work places in different countries in universities, thechnological enterprises, and governmental departments.
