Overview This Doctoral programme provides training in R+D technologies to the highest level with criteria of excellence in the areas of textile engineering, paper product technologies and the graphic industry. It encompasses the training requirements for research into the entire manufacturing chain of textile and paper products. Hence, it covers everything from the characterisation of fibrous substrates (natural or chemical) to the formation of laminar textile composites, woven and non-woven, for use in clothing, domestic items and others when suitably dyed and finished, as well as their use in industry, with their various requirements depending on their applications. The programmeThe courses take in such aspects as advanced analytical techniques, the study of the microstructure of fibre related to its properties, the application of biotechnologies, clean technologies, textile eco-finishing methods, simulation, application of surfactants in processes, colorimetry applied in bleaching, dyeing and fabric finishes, and all the physical and chemical aspects that have a bearing on the manufacture of high-quality and environment-friendly textile and paper products with a view to sustainability. The programme, therefore, is of an interdisciplinary nature in the various educational aspects in order to achieve the goals set out.The Programme comprises an initial phase of courses leading to the Advanced Studies Diploma and later the Minimum Research Capacity after supervised research work has been carried out. The programme culminates with the preparation and writing of a Doctoral Thesis.
