After its establishment in 1992 under the Department of Translation and Interpretation at Hacettepe University Faculty of Letters, written / spoken in the light of scientific methods in a wide range from law and economics to medicine, from international relations, fine arts and literature to technical fields, in order to meet the increasing needs of today, The Department of French Translation and Interpretation, which aims to train staff capable of performing consecutive / simultaneous translations, runs a four-year program that results in a Turkish-French bilingual bachelor's degree (Repealed). In the year 2011 the university entrance exam in Turkey 31562.s students with a range 1599.s were entitled to pursue higher education in French Translation and Interpretation Department. The department, which started education in the 1992-1993 academic year, gave its first graduates in 1996.
