About Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program admitted its first stream of students in 2017-2018 academic year. The annual admission quota is 60. The language of instruction in the program is English. The students must successfully pass language proficiency test in English to begin their program. The graduates of the program mainly work in leading defense, automotive, machine, manufacturing and energy firms and continue their graduate studies in Turkish universities and universities abroad. The Department of Mechanical Engineering currently has 15 faculty members. The department is very active in research and also offers M.S. and PhD programs in Mechanical Engineering. The research focus of the department lies in the areas of solid mechanics and design, mechanisms and machine theory, automotive, materials, control, mechatronics, sensors and thermal-fluids engineering and energy.
