Hacettepe University offers the Master of International Relations as a full-time degree delivered on campus at its main campus in Istanbul, Turkey. Taught in English, the program equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for international relations and related professional fields. The next available intake begins on September 1, 2027.

About Master of International Relations

1. The applicants, in principle, must hold bachelor's degrees from Political Science or International Relations departments. If not, they must have diplomas from other four-year higher education institutions which equivalence is approved by the Academic Board of the Department of International Relations. In the case if applicants who were admitted to the program are not the graduates of International Relations or Political Science departments, they have to take the scientific preparation courses from the Undergraduate Curriculum. The transcripts of these students will be examined and the content of their preparatory program will be determined by the Academic Board of the Department. In order to be admitted to the program, students must be successful in each of the preparatory courses.
3. The applicants must have ALES equally weighted scores that meet the minimum score of 65 or must have internationally recognized GRE and GMAT scores that are equivalent to 65 of ALES in accordance with the equivalence defined by the Senate of Hacettepe University.
5. International students' applications are accepted in line within â€œHacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation" in Official Gazette (29 November 2016, No:29900).

Students must take a total of minimum 30 credit courses within the program making a total of 120 ECTS (At least one of these courses must be a Seminar).Students may take up to 6 credits from other Departments, upon the approval of the Academic Board of the Department of International Relations.
To graduate from this program, the student should be successful in the Seminar course, should complete 30 credits (in ECTS 120 credits), and should successfully defend his/her thesis.
