About PhD in English Linguistics
2. The cumulative GPA (of Master's Degree) is to be a minimum score of 3.00 or its equivalent out of a scale of 4.00.
3. A minimum of 70 points (any of the scalar, verbal, or equal-weight categories) in ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam), administered by ÖSYM (Turkish Assessment, Selection and Placement Center), or an equivalent score of 70 points in internationally accepted exams such as GRE or GMAT, which are also subject to Hacettepe University Senate equivalence standards.
4. Minimum of 90 in English in YDS (Foreign Language Exam), or internationally valid scores, which are subject to ÖSYM equivalence standards.
5. International students' applications are accepted in line within “Hacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation" in Official Gazette (29 November 2016, No:29900).

In order to graduate from our academic program, students should take 90 ECTS in the courses period and 30 ECTS in the period of preparation for the PhD proficiency exam and be successful in the dissertation writing period which worth 120 ECTS.
