MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The Bachelors Degree Program of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is a 240 ECTS credits, 4-year program composed of eight semesters, each of which has a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS equals to 25.5 hours of student workload per semester.
Mechanical Engineering is an Engineering discipline that has various application areas in the Industry. At the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Aydn University, besides the education of candidate professionals in design, production and control of the engineering systems, research and development projects are conducted.
Mechanical Engineers have the opportunity to work in almost all the industrial fields as they can take responsibility for design and production of the machines in our life. They can work as: maintenance engineers, quality control engineers, research & development engineers, production engineers and sales engineers. Most of the mechanical engineers can also work at the administrative positions after a certain experience. The higher the need to the advanced machinery and tools, the higher the needs to the qualified mechanical engineers.
Our depatment is fully equipped with physical facilities such as the laboratories that have modern technology serving to the education and research activities. The program continues to progress the level of expertise in the areas of robotics and mechatronics, design and production, dynamics and control of machines and vehicles, convection systems, thermal and energy transformation systems, combustion, heat transfer and liquid dynamics, engines, environment, lubrication and nano-technology using current computer technology. The language of instruction in our Department is Turkish.
