VISUAL ARTS

The department of Visual Arts at the Social Sciences Institute at Istanbul Aydn University provides an advanced education in visual arts for those who hold a bachelor degree from any disciplines of fine arts. The main goal of the program is to encourage free artistic expression derived from the students own choices and tendencies in any art form they choose, where the creation process is handled with competent, conscious attitudes, and where artistic creation is recognized through a scope that relates to time, space and culture and which is applied in innovative solutions.

The program is a 120 ECTS credit program with a duration of 2 academic years, each with 2 semesters. The regular program consists of 7 courses of 21 local credits, a seminar and a thesis work of 60 ECTS credits with a normal duration of 2 semesters. The institute, upon the request of the program director, may require the prospective student to take additional courses if his/her background is not seen fit to follow the program.

Turkish translation of Undergraduate diploma and transcript
Notarization of translated Undergraduate diploma and transcript from Notary in Turkey or Turkish Embassy in your country
Health Insurance for one year (compulsory– You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs. Insurance Costs between 400,00 to 600,00 TRL)
Language proficiency certificate:

Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
A cumulative GPA of 2,5 (on a 4,0) or equivalent
For English degree program applicants: TOEFL score -66 points (If English is not the first/ official language of the country). If students do not have TOEFL then he/ she has to qualify English Proficiency Exam, which will be held in IAU. Dates will be mentioned at http://int.aydin.edu.tr .

If you know Turkish (You can pass a Turkish Proficiency Exam)
If you do not know Turkish then Apply for Turkish Language Program first at tomer.aydin.edu.tr, as without having Turkish Language visa students will not be registered to TÖMER.
