    About

    Sabanc University European Studies MA Program provides a comprehensive study of historical and contemporary developments in Europe, specifically of the European integration process, from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The students will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the European political and administrative systems as well as historical and philosophical foundations of modern Europe. They will also gain the necessary skills to compete for increasing opportunities in careers within the newly emerging institutions of Europe as Euro-bureaucrats and policy-makers, as representatives of and/or analysts/consultants to governments, NGOs and the private sector in all matters relating to the European Union. Given Turkey\'s candidacy, there is a pressing need for advancing EU studies in Turkey and generating an awareness in the Turkish public opinion as well as the policy-making circles about the European Union, its decision-making procedures, its institutions. This is reflected in the increasing demand coming from the private sector to employ specialists who know how decisions are made within EU and how they might be effectively pursued and shaped. Private sector organizations in Turkey will require all the human resources they can find to compete in the increasingly complex European and related global markets. Similarly in the government sector, the prospects of the start of accession negotiations imply an immediately growing need for a new breed of able and knowledgeable public servants specializing in the European related issues.     Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    1) International students,

    2) Those holding Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but documenting their certification for rights mentioned in the Turkish Citizenship Law, no: 5901, Item 7, stating that “Anyone born, either in Turkey or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen.” Candidates who wish to apply within the “applications from abroad” category should examine the Turkish Citizenship Law.

    3) Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth; and have gained the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual-citizenship,

    4) a) Those who hold the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey and have completed last 3 years of their high school education in another country except The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus before 01/02/2013. (Including those who have completed their entire high school education in a Turkish high school opened in another country, except ones in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, within the scope of MEB.)

    b) Those who start their high school education after 01/02/2013 in abroad, and completing entire high school education in abroad except The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. (Including those who have completed their entire high school education in a Turkish high school opened in another country, except ones in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, within the scope of MEB.)

    c) Those who hold Turkish citizenship or dual citizenship, one of which is Turkish, must have received their high school education abroad as formal education (not distance education). These applicants are required to certify their formal education by presenting the relevant pages in their passports showing that they have entered the country where the high school is located during their high school education.

    5) Those who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who reside in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system, as well as those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010.

    BEFORE APPLICATION

    1. Please visit our required exam list page first and make sure you fulfill at least one of our academic requirement from the list: CLICK (check both international and your country section)
    2. Prepare all your documents: scan and save them in your computer, ready to upload to our online system : (You need to pay 30 USD as an application fee during filling the form)

      Required Documents for Application:

      • The copy of the exam/diploma result(s) accepted by the University: CLICK
      • If available, the copy of High School Diploma (if in another language rather than Turkish or English, notarized translation should also be submitted)
      • Official transcript, showing all courses and grades taken during the entire high school education, signed and stamped by the high school authority.
      • If taken before, copy of international language proficiency exam scores accepted by Sabancı University English Prep School: CLICK→ not compulsory, you can also take Sabancı University English Language Exam (ELEA) during registration week.
      • If available, 1 academic letter of recommendation
      • Letter of motivation (to strengthen your application)
      • Any extracurricular certificate, such as Olympiad certificates (to strengthen your application)
