It is one of best cities of Queensland, Australia, on the east coast of Far North Queensland. The area of Cairns is 254.3 km2 Hosting a population of 153, 39 depending on 2019’s data.
The city of Cairns was established in 1875, and given the name Cairns in honour of Sir William Wellington Cairns, who was the Governor of Queensland during the period from 1875 – 1877 .
The reason behind its foundation was to help serve miners heading for the gold field of Hodgkin son River, but a new route was emerged granting an easier road line close to Port Douglas, so the importance of the city started to diminish.
The majority of the population in Cairns combines the dominant groups of: English, Australian, Irish, Scottish and German. The city later used as a railhead and essential port for exporting sugar cane, minerals, gold and agricultural products from coastal regions surrounding the city of Cairns which is the fifth most populated city in Queensland and fourteenth in the whole country.
