  • This programme is aimed at those who work, or intend to work, as TESOL professionals teaching English in their own country or elsewhere.
  • This programme will equip you with an increased awareness of issues related to English language, learning and teaching. 
  • This programme is available on a part-time basis for home students with some attendance at Paisley Campus – making it an ideal route if you plan to gain practical experience working while you study.
  • This programme also gives you the option of taking a language module, which is studied as an extra module and doesn’t count towards your degree.
  • The programme includes opportunities to work directly with ESOL learners and develop your practical learning skills.

    Entry Requirements

     Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree pass  For programmes requiring Honours Degree applicants must have achieved the following grades:  Excellent  Good  Very Good

    English Requirements

    • IELTSMin 6
    • TOEFLMin 78

    English Program Requirements

    If you do not fall into any of the categories above you will need to provide proof of your English language ability through the International English Language Test System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

    Duo Lingo

    For 2022-23 entry, the University has approved the use of the online Duolingo English test as evidence of English language ability. UWS will accept an overall score between 90-115 with no component score below 90.

    4. Prepare the documents

    Once you have had a call with us, compile the required documents to be submitted.

    5. Write a personal statement

    6. Submit an application

    Fill out an application form here.

    7. Accept the offer, if successful

    Once your application has been processed, we will contact you by email to confirm the outcome. If successful, you will receive an offer letter which will detail your next steps.

    8. Pay the deposit

    You will be required to pay a deposit to secure your place at the university.

    9: Attend a TEG credibility interview

    The purpose of this interview is to assess if students are credible and genuine. At this stage you will need to prepare your CAS documents for review.

    10. Apply for Visa

    International students, including nationals from EEA or Switzerland, would require a student visa to study at UWS London.
