<p>The Lensfield Hotel, established since 1959, has become a relaxing, well-appointed sanctuary for business travelers, visitors from overseas and many college undergraduates and their parents.</p>
<p>The building dates back to around 1850 and is situated, in the heart of this historic and diverse city (a city renowned with the likes of: Byron, Newton, Darwin and Rupert Brook) and is a few hundred yards, within walking distance to all university colleges, especially the infamous “Kings”, founded by Henry VI in 1441, the university Botanic Gardens, museums, parks and open spaces, entertainment and the shopping vicinity where “one shops till they drop!”.</p>
<p>The resident owners take pride in giving friendly and efficient service to all guests – and are always available to provide local information.</p>

 <p>The General English course at St Giles Cambridge is designed to benefit students who hope to communicate with confidence and ease in real-life situations. The main goal is to improve speaking and listening skills. Students can choose from group or one-to-one lessons; one-to-one lessons can be combined with group lessons on our English Plus Programme.</p>
 <p>Learning the English language in an English-speaking city such as Cambridge is a fantastic way to improve your language skills, as you will have the chance to practice English both in and out of the classroom. From ordering a meal in a restaurant to making purchases in shops, you will have opportunities to talk with native English speakers every day.</p>
 <p>Classes have a maximum of 12 students which allows teachers to provide each student with the personal attention they require. Classes will focus on improving students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, which will help them reach their full potential. Students can choose to study for between 1 to 24 weeks; any student who wishes to study for longer should look at our International Semester Courses. The minimum age for this course is 16.</p>

 <p>St Giles Cambridge offers a range of courses for those who wish to learn the English language, including helpful preparation courses for B2 First and C1 Advanced exams throughout the year. These Cambridge Assessment English examinations are taken by thousands of international students each year and are widely recognised around the world by employers, universities and government ministries. The exams demonstrate a person’s ability to use the English language proficiently. Our preparation courses will help give students the confidence they need to apply their new skills.</p>
 <p>Students who choose to study for 28 lessons per week will take 20 morning lessons of Cambridge Assessment English exam preparation and 8 afternoon lessons of General English or English for University Studies. The course will take place over 8 to 13 weeks and each lesson will last for 50 minutes. The average class size is 9-12 students, so you are sure to get the unique attention you require from your teachers.</p>

 <p>St Giles Cambridge offers preparation courses for the IELTS exam starting every Monday. Students at St Giles Cambridge can choose to study for 4 or more weeks. This course offers 20 morning lessons of IELTS preparation with the option to add 8 afternoon lessons of General English <em>or</em> English for University Studies.</p>
 <p>IELTS (International English Language Testing Service) is an internationally recognised examination, which is the entry requirement for universities in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. IELTS is also recognised by international employers.</p>

 <p>St Giles Cambridge offers General English plus English for Business group lessons, which help students to improve their English and also develop specific English skills for a business environment, such as giving presentations, writing reports and compiling emails.</p>
 <p>This course in Cambridge combines 20 morning lessons of General English with 8 afternoon lessons focusing on English for Business. Students can also add this course as a module on a long-term International Semester Course and can choose to prepare for the Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC) during the course.</p>

 <p>Our St Giles school in Cambridge provides a range of courses, including English for Beginners, which begin on regular set dates throughout the year. Students are given the choice of either 20 morning lessons or 28 lessons per week for 2 to 4 weeks. Our English for Beginners course has been planned carefully to ensure the students have a strong understanding of important language skills by the time the course is over. The learning environment is highly supportive with small class sizes so that the teachers can focus their attention on each and every student.</p>
 <p>English for Beginners at St Giles Cambridge is perfect for students who want to learn the basic level of the English language so that they can use ‘every day’ English while on a short visit to the UK. It is also a great starting point for Beginner students who need an introduction to English before studying for a longer period on an English for Beginners or International Semester course.</p>
 <p>After a student has studied an English for Beginners course, they will be confident in their ability to speak basic English and have an increased vocabulary range.
