    Program Information

    Students in our Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciencesbenefit from state-of-the-art food science labs, nutrition assessment technology, personalized learning from faculty with a wealth of experience in the field, and hands-on field practicum hours for career preparation. With the dietetics industry requiring a master's degree for Registered DietitianNutritionist(RDN) rolesby 2024, Viterbo University has also been granted accreditation tooffer an accelerated one-year Masterof Science in Community Medical Dietetics degree. Viterbo students interested in becoming registered dietitian nutritionists will have the option to complete our Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences degree with guaranteed early entry into ourMasterof Science in Community Medical Dietetics. Unlike didactic programs, this one-year master degree also includes 1,200 ACEND-accredited supervised practice hours, also called a dietetic coordinatedinternship, which is required tobe eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    • Four units of English
    • Three units of mathematics (two years of algebra is explicitly required for all nursing and dietetics students; calculus is recommended, but not required, as a prerequisite for engineering students)
    • Three units of natural science (chemistry is required for all nursing, dietetics, social work, natural science, and other allied health pre-professional students)
    • Three units of social science or history
    • Three units of elective credits (elective credits are chosen from the above college prep area or from the following: foreign language, fine arts, computer science, or other academic areas)

    English Program Requirements

    You will need to take the TOEFL,&IELTS, or PTE test to assess your proficiency in English. You may also demonstrate English proficiency by successful completion of Level 112 from an ELS Language Center (www.els.edu). Based upon your score, you may be required to take additional English language classes. Learn more about&English language policies.

      Submit transcripts and ACT scores to the admissions office. Supply the necessary transcripts to the registrar: previous college transcripts if applicable or CLEP credit for prior military learning
