    Overview Program FeaturesThe Accelerated Interdisciplinary Basic Medical Sciences program of the New York Medical College is not a post-baccalaureate program in the traditional sense; it is considered an academic enhancer for students who wish to improve their credentials and preparedness for admission to medical school after they have completed the pre-med requirements.As the accelerated track is highly rigorous, admission is very competitive and limited to only 15-25 students per year. This allows our faculty advisors to work closely with the students to ensure they meet the degree requirements and provide them with comprehensive guidance concerning their applications to medical school. Although there is no guarantee of acceptance to New York Medical College’s School of Medicine or any other medical school, students who have successfully completed the didactic portion of the program enjoy an impressive medical school acceptance rate of greater than 85 percent.     The highly competitive Accelerated Interdisciplinary Basic Medical Sciences program of the New York Medical College is an accelerated post-baccalaureate pre-medical program in which students take select pre-clinical medical school courses alongside our first-year School of Medicine students and are able to complete the degree requirements within one year.
