    Why study the Certificate in Accountancy?

    The main purpose of the Certificate in Accountancy is to help students who have completed a bachelor’s degree to complete coursework that may qualify students for entry to the Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy program.

    English Program Requirements

    Results must be less than two years old at the time of your application in order to be accepted as proof of language proficiency. Depending on your test score, you may be required to take a placement test after being admitted to Concordia. This placement test will determine whether you need to enroll in English Second Language (ESL) courses while pursuing your degree, usually within the first year.

    • Tests taken January 2026 or later (new TOEFL score scale): 4.0 with no section below 3.5
    • To ensure your TOEFL results are forwarded directly to Concordia University, you must indicate 0956.00 as the “Institution Code” when you write the test. “MyBest Scores” are accepted.

    After your degree

    The Certificate in Accountancy is often a first step towards a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Within the Certificate in Accountancy students are able to complete missing prerequisites in order to qualify for John Molson School of Business’ Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy.
