Why Accounting at Bay Path University?

At Bay Path, we recognize accounting as an essential function of business, large or small, profit or non-profit, and we prepare our students to excel within the profession.  

As an accountant, you must enjoy working with numbers, but more important, you must understand what those numbers represent for an organization.  Your work provides critical insight into the health of a bottom line, a check and balance for fiscal integrity, or an analysis that could lead to a new way of doing business.  Love of math, details, and organization are good qualities you must have as an accountant, but also think of communication skills. Often, you will be working with teamsand youll interact with clients. The art of negotiation, too, is a vital part of your day-to-day life.  Accounting principles have remained the same, but the profession of accounting is constantly evolving.

Bay Paths accounting programs provide the business skills and technical knowledge you need in current dynamic business environment. By studying accounting, you will:

• Gain a broad foundation of core business concepts
• Put fundamental accounting theories into practice
• Have the opportunity to pursue professional licensure
• Participate in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program
• Prepare for success in a wide range of professions

• Official high school transcripts translated into English
• One of the following: SAT, ACT, TOEFL, or IELTS scores (if the language of instruction in your high school or college was in English this can be waived)
• Two letters of recommendation from your teacher, school counselor, or principal 
• One to three page typed essay in English addressing what you hope to gain from your college experience as well as what you will contribute to the Bay Path University community
• Photocopy of a valid passport
• Bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover one full year of study at Bay Path University 

Bay Path University enjoys a rich tradition of international student enrollment. International students interested in enrolling in any of the associate or baccalaureate degree programs are required to submit the following requirements:

• Completed application
• Official high school transcripts translated into English
• One of the following: SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores (if the language of instruction in your high school or college was in English this can be waived)
• Two letters of recommendation from your teacher, school counselor, or principal
• One to three page typed essay in English addressing what you hope to gain from your college experience as well as what you will contribute to the Bay Path University community
• Photocopy of a valid passport
• Bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover one full year of study at Bay Path University
