The BS Accounting program focuses on real-world applications of accounting theories and principles. Students gain the skills they need to identify, analyze, interpret and disseminate financial information. The curriculum provides necessary knowledge to be better prepared for the
CPA exam.
Accounting majors pursue careers in public and corporate accounting, tax preparation, management accounting and financial consulting. In the Accounting profession, you will develop the financial statements that drive business, explain the meaning of these statements and implement strategies to improve them. Accounting professionals who are adept at providing the financial information that backs solid business decisions are always in demand.
Admission Criteria:
Business Administration Major GPA – 2.7, if transferring from Business Administration Major to this program
Overall GPA – 3.0, if entering/transferring from any other program
120 semester hours of coursework is required for the baccalaureate degree with a minimum 2.70 overall GPA, and a minimum 2.70 major GPA.
